i saw his video bulla sometime ago n all i cud do was admire his unique music n singing style. n it has been superbly complemented by the video at last we hav somethin different from d regular re-mix n punjabi pop |

Yea, Bulla is a great track & more you listen to it, the more it grows on you.
Frankly, i was surprised to see a punjabi with a guitar in hand but he really has done a fantastic job. I bought the CD the day I heard the song. The lyrics of "Bulla" are traditional & were written by an old Sufi poet "Baba Bulley Shah". Apart from Bulla, other notable tracks are "Heer", "Tere Bin". Overall, its a very nice album. |

Well, this guy deserves a lot of credit for working on a completely unique concept.
At a time when the market is flooded with run-of-the mill remix albums often accompanied by sleazy music videos, rabbi has come as a refreshing change. Bullla is a typical sufi song & the soulful voice of Rabbi has completely done justice to the masterful lyrics by Baba Bulle Shah. I even read that Shashank Ghosh, the director of Waisa bhi hota hai Part 2, wanted this track in his movie but was refused by Rabbi. Rabbi & his music are here to stay for sure. |

havent listened to this track cuz am not much into this genre. but one thing's for sure, this song is certainly very popular cuz here at my company's internal newsgroup, there are atleast 2-3 requests everyday for the song..

Yea, I agree that Rabbi is definitely better than most pretending to - be punjabi singers but he hasn't completely done justice to Bulle Shah's work.
His voice is good but the true accent required for punjabi songs is missing. hehe but thats just my 50 cents. |

Rabbi sounds great I agree BUT one should understand that he has had an western guitar arrangement over sufi. And nothing defeats sufi in getting across the heart and soul.
