I work with Accenture in Mumbai. I think it's a great place to work in - especially for freshers. For one, the work culture is quite open.

People can work in Flexi-hours - come in any time, but make sure they work 8 productive hours each day. There are lots of opportunities for learning in technologies, personality development, communication skills - in a TRUE MNC way. And there is a very wide technology canvas.

People get responsibilities based on their abilities and potential, not the level in which they are in the organisation. So growth opportunities are immense.

The work environment is very professional - drawn from it's True Global Stature.

Not that everything is great - but overall it's a great option for freshers - if learning and growth is what you are looking for.

And guess what - it will probably in campus this year!

If you want to make your career in mainframes, then cognizant should be choice. And dont think that mainframes is an obsolete thing. its there and the amount of profits that companies make by mainframes is much more than the projects from java or client-server technology.

If you join cognizant as a fresher than try not to join in chennai. The trainig period in Chennai is a torture. Kolkata training is cool and the academy person there are very helpful too.

It can be a good choice for 1-2 years.

And yes today if you want to go to onsite only in infosys and cognizant you can expect it sooner than in any other company

Infosys was my first and last choice.
Well if Ubisoft or Microsoft Game studio came then they would have priority.

I know I am still in college but I know infy is great place for transition from college to industry.

As far as this thread is concerned I would like to say that we just cant generalize as to which company is best. The point here is are you at right place? One has to make compromise between money and job satisfaction in terms of pursuing his/her own interests ( though 99% of this world just flows with time and they have money as their main concern). And Life is just too capricious as well as serendipitous. So do what you can right where you are with what all you have. Dont bother too much about the future in a company, and most importantly dont leave ur interests/hobbies in pursuit of the stupid money making jobs.

I completely agree with maiden & Lohcheb
Try to do what you like and enjoy and try to find a place/company where you can enjoy Life. Money is a very lousy yardstick to measure any job...So a company that is great for someone might not be for the next one.

Hey guys... Why don't any one of you have plans to build your own company? Why don't you want to be Bill Gates or maybe Narayan Murphy...
Sometimes i keep wondering - Is there something lacking in our college - that it does not teaches us to build businesses/companies and almost everyone wants to be at a great company.. work for someone else... but doesn't have plans to build his own empire ???????????

Right!! Money is secondary, especially at the beginning of one's career. It is best to find a place where one can learn a lot.

@kashyap9_navjot
Just one question...Narayan Murthy to suna tha...yeh Murphy kab se ho gaya?
