There has been recently a lot of warnings from various internet observers about the flaws in the security of blogs. Since identity of a poster is not verified and since there is a lot of space these are quickly becoming sources for malicious codes and attacks.

It is not a flaw in the security of a blog per se...
There are innumerous hosting companies outthere who give out free space for hosting of any sort of website. And social engg is already being applied to lure visitors to those websites. (just a quick and dirty examples would be get rich quick, and free give away sort of websites)
Neways, blogs pose even lesser threat than these websites cuz a blog has to be written tediously over a period of time and make its place in the community in order to lure visitors to it.
So, basically its a basic flaw of the internet itself that provides us faceless communication.
And moreover u can never (and should never) impose a restriction on a blogger that he should reveal his true identity.
